Pakistan’s Cyber Attack Foiled: Indian Army Thwarts Digital and LoC Hostilities

In a fresh attempt to undermine India’s security, Pakistan-based cyber operatives have failed to breach the Indian Army’s digital infrastructure. Following its alleged involvement in the Pahalgam terror attack and ongoing ceasefire violations along the Line of Control (LoC), Pakistan has now redirected its aggression toward civilian welfare and educational portals in India.

Operating under the alias “IOK Hacker” (Internet of Khilafah), these groups attempted to deface websites, disrupt services, and extract personal data. Targets included the websites of Army Public School (APS) Srinagar, APS Ranikhet, the Army Welfare Housing Organisation (AWHO), and the Indian Air Force Placement Organisation. APS Srinagar was also subjected to a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack.

However, India’s robust multi-layered cybersecurity systems swiftly detected these intrusions, traced them back to Pakistani sources, and took immediate containment and restoration measures. Intelligence sources have confirmed four related incidents, none of which compromised classified or operational military networks.

These failed attacks reflect both the intent and limitations of adversarial cyber efforts, reinforcing the Indian Army’s commitment to securing its digital domains and protecting the personal data of soldiers and their families.

Simultaneously, the Indian Army responded decisively to unprovoked small arms fire by Pakistani troops along the LoC on the night of April 28-29, particularly in sectors opposite Kupwara, Baramulla, and Akhnoor. This marks the fifth consecutive day of Indian retaliation since ceasefire violations began on April 25.

Tensions remain high in the region as security forces intensify anti-terror operations in Jammu and Kashmir, especially following the deadly Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives on April 22.
