Operation Sindoor: PM Modi’s Vow Fulfilled with Precision Strikes Beyond Pakistan’s Imagination, Says BJP MP Sambit Patra

BJP MP Sambit Patra praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian Armed Forces for the success of Operation Sindoor, stating that the retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack was executed in a manner “beyond the enemy’s imagination.”

Speaking at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi on Sunday, Patra recalled the national demand for decisive action following the April 22 terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam, which killed 26 civilians. He said PM Modi had vowed that the response would be “ghus ke maarenge” (hit from within) and reduce terror sites to rubble — a promise now fulfilled.

“The PM said the revenge would be beyond imagination, and it was. He had said ‘mitti mein milayenge’ and that’s exactly what happened. Operation Sindoor is proof that Pakistan couldn’t even anticipate the timing or intensity of the strike,” Patra told reporters.

Patra hailed the Armed Forces’ “indomitable courage”, crediting the Army, Navy, and Air Force for executing the operation that took out nine major terror camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). These included key Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed facilities in Muridke and Bahawalpur, known hubs for training and radicalisation.

One of the significant outcomes of the operation was the elimination of Rauf Azhar, brother-in-law of Jaish chief Maulana Masood Azhar and a conspirator in the 1999 IC-814 hijacking. His death marks a major blow to Jaish-e-Mohammed’s command structure.

“The entire nation today is aware of what Operation Sindoor has achieved. The three service DGMOs laid out the facts before the public — this is a defining moment in India’s fight against cross-border terrorism,” Patra added.

Operation Sindoor, launched on May 7, was India’s calibrated and coordinated military response to escalating cross-border provocations, including heavy shelling and drone attacks.
