The ongoing Mahakumbh in Prayagraj continues to attract millions of devotees from across the globe, making it one of the largest religious gatherings in the world. Devotees have been flocking to the Mahakumbh Mela Kshetra to experience the spiritual significance of taking a dip in the Triveni Sangam, the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers.
On Sunday alone, around 8.429 million devotees participated in this holy ritual, according to the Uttar Pradesh government. This brings the total number of devotees who have taken the sacred dip at Mahakumbh 2025 to more than 420 million.
The Mahakumbh, which began on Paush Purnima (January 13, 2025), is the largest spiritual and cultural event in the world. The gathering, which draws people from across the globe, will continue until Mahashivratri on February 26. With millions of devotees already attending, the event is poised to set new records for both attendance and participation.
In a recent display of devotion, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam and later served prasad to devotees at the Rajasthan Mandap in Prayagraj. “On this auspicious occasion of Maha Kumbh-2025, I distributed prasad to the devotees at the Rajasthan Mandap and received their blessings,” CM Sharma shared in a post on X.
He further wished, “May the infinite blessings of Maa Ganga, Maa Yamuna, and Maa Saraswati always remain upon us, filling our lives with happiness, prosperity, and well-being.”
CM Bhajanlal Sharma was joined at the Sangam by Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav. The two leaders exchanged greetings after taking the holy dip together. Speaking to ANI, CM Yadav expressed, “Sangam has the blessings of Maa Ganga and Maa Yamuna, and Prayagraj is the supreme place of all pilgrimages. The joy of taking a holy dip here is earned through the virtues of many births. I prayed for the well-being of Madhya Pradesh’s people, especially the youth, and for the prosperity of every section of society.”
