Union Home Minister Amit Shah, accompanied by his family, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and several saints, performed aarti at the sacred Triveni Sangam during the ongoing Mahakumbh Mela 2025 in Prayagraj.

Shah, along with his wife Sonal Shah and family, also fed migratory birds at the Sangam, adding a personal and serene touch to his spiritual visit. Earlier in the day, Shah took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam, joined by CM Yogi Adityanath, Baba Ramdev, and other saints and sages.

Before the holy dip, Shah and CM Yogi interacted with saints and seers in Prayagraj. Shah’s itinerary also included visits to several spiritual landmarks:

  • Bade Hanuman Ji Temple and Abhayvat, key religious sites in Prayagraj.
  • Juna Akhara, where he met the Maharaj and other saints and shared lunch with them.
  • Guru Sharananand Ji’s Ashram, where he met Guru Sharananand Ji and Govind Giri Ji Maharaj.
  • A concluding meeting with the Shankaracharyas of Sringeri, Puri, and Dwaraka.

Shah is scheduled to depart for Delhi in the evening after completing his engagements.

During the Mahakumbh, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev also performed yoga poses, inspiring the gathering with their participation.

Several Union Ministers, including Rajnath Singh, have visited Prayagraj to take part in the Mahakumbh. The Uttar Pradesh cabinet recently held a meeting in the holy city and took a dip at the Triveni Sangam.

The Mahakumbh, held every 12 years, began on January 13 with Paush Purnima and will continue until February 26. Over the first 14 days, the event has witnessed a massive turnout, with more than 110 million devotees taking a holy dip in the sacred waters of Prayagraj.

Pilgrims flock to the Triveni Sangam—the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers—believed to absolve sins and grant moksha (liberation). Rooted in Sanatan Dharma, the Mahakumbh aligns with celestial events, offering an auspicious period for spiritual cleansing and devotion.

With an expected attendance of over 45 crore devotees, the Mahakumbh 2025 is set to be a historic and unparalleled spiritual gathering for India.
