The ongoing Maha Kumbh 2025, which has drawn an enormous influx of devotees, witnessed a remarkable effort to set a new Guinness World Record, as 15,000 sanitation workers participated in a massive cleanliness drive across multiple venues.

The final results of this ambitious record attempt are expected to be announced on February 27. Rishi Nath, an adjudicator from Guinness World Records, elaborated on the multi-layered evaluation process being employed to ensure accuracy and fairness in assessing the attempt.

“We have a multiple-layered evaluation system. The first system is the QR code system. Each participant is given a wristband with a unique QR code. As they enter the attempt area, the code is scanned, and the data is logged into a central database. This process is followed across all four venues where the attempts are taking place,” Nath told ANI.

He further explained the monitoring system in place: “When people are attempting the record, for every 50 participants, there is one steward assigned to observe and ensure that all participants adhere to the guidelines of the record attempt. Finally, we have an auditing team stationed across the five locations. They will review steward reports, QR code data, and provide a final assessment. The announcement of results will take place on February 27.”

As of February 23, over 620 million devotees had taken a dip in the sacred Sangam, and on February 19 alone, more than 9 million devotees participated in the holy dip by 2:00 PM.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted the unprecedented scale of the event, sharing that over 620 million devotees had visited Prayagraj for the Maha Kumbh 2025. He emphasized how the event had become a powerful platform for people to express gratitude towards their heritage, culture, and religion.

“Today, the total number of people who took the holy dip in Maha Kumbh has crossed 620 million. Now imagine, which other religion or community witnesses such a massive gathering in a limited time period? Maha Kumbh has become a medium to show gratitude towards one’s heritage, culture, and religion. Almost every family has become a part of this historic event,” CM Yogi said while addressing a gathering on Sunday.

As the historic Maha Kumbh 2025 nears its conclusion, anticipation builds for the final major bath, which will take place on February 26, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri.
