A magisterial inquiry has been ordered into the death of Shivam Yadav, a stenographer working for the Sohawal Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), who died in a road accident near Sahadatganj in the Cantt police station area of Ayodhya.
The inquiry was initiated following protests by Yadav’s family, who alleged that the SDM was responsible for his death, calling the accident suspicious and demanding action.
Ayodhya District Magistrate Chandra Vijay Singh confirmed the inquiry, stating, “I have spoken to the family, and based on their concerns, I have ordered a magisterial inquiry. Appropriate action will be taken after the investigation.”
The incident has also sparked political outrage, with Samajwadi Party MP Awadhesh Prasad joining the protest alongside other party leaders. Prasad vowed to raise the issue in Parliament, saying, “This is a fight for justice. We will not back down.”
Reports indicate that Shivam Yadav lost his life in a road accident on Saturday evening, leading to a dramatic scene at the district hospital, where his family members accused the SDM of foul play.
As the inquiry unfolds, further details on the case are awaited.
