Leader of Opposition Atishi on Tuesday criticized the Delhi government for presenting the Budget 2025-26 without conducting an economic survey, claiming that the administration itself admitted to not analyzing the city’s financial condition before drafting the budget.

“Is it a good thing that they are saying they formed a budget without reviewing Delhi’s financial situation? This means the Delhi government has admitted that they have not done any analysis before making this budget,” Atishi told reporters.

Expressing her surprise over the absence of an economic survey, she added, “To date, we have never seen any government making a budget without an economic survey.”

Earlier in the day, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta presented the ₹1 lakh crore budget for the national capital, calling it “historic” and a transformation from an economic crisis to a Viksit Delhi.

CM Gupta targeted the previous AAP government, accusing them of mismanagement and corruption.

“The previous government failed in every aspect—Yamuna was unclean, roads were damaged, and air pollution was high. Delhi Jal Board and DTC were running in losses. Government revenue was going into the pockets of liquor mafia and PWD contractors,” she alleged.

She further added, “The days of financial mismanagement are over. This government is here to build a progressive and corruption-free Delhi.”
