The Karnataka Assembly was adjourned on Friday following chaos in the House as BJP MLAs stormed the Well, tore papers, and threw them in front of the Speaker’s chair.

The uproar erupted after Karnataka Cooperation Minister KN Rajanna alleged that he was targeted in a honey trap attempt. BJP legislators, holding CDs they claimed contained evidence, raised slogans of “down, down” and disrupted proceedings while Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was speaking.

Leader of the Opposition, BJP MLA R Ashoka, called it a “massive conspiracy” against legislators working for the people, alleging hidden motives behind the honey trap incidents.

Defending his government, CM Siddaramaiah asserted there was no question of protecting anyone involved. He stated that Home Minister G Parameshwara had already initiated an inquiry and that action would be taken if specific names were mentioned.

“The government will not shield anyone. The law will take its course, and the guilty will be punished,” Siddaramaiah said.

Karnataka Minister MC Sudhakar also addressed the issue, emphasizing the growing misuse of honey traps for extortion and urging for strict action.

On Thursday, Home Minister G Parameshwara announced a high-level probe into the alleged honey trap attempt on Rajendra Rajanna, MLC and son of Minister KN Rajanna.
