Jubilee Hills MLA and Senior BRS Leader Maganti Gopinath Passes Away; Tributes Pour In from Across Political Spectrum

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and several political leaders mourned the passing of senior Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader and Jubilee Hills MLA Maganti Gopinath, who died early Sunday morning at the age of 63 in Hyderabad.

Gopinath, a three-time MLA and noted film producer, had been admitted to AIG Hospital on June 5 following a heart attack. Despite intensive care, he was declared dead at 5:45 AM on June 8.

Pawan Kalyan expressed his condolences, saying, “I am deeply saddened to learn about the demise of Maganti Gopinath. Since 2014, he played a vital role in the development of Jubilee Hills. I extend heartfelt condolences to his family and pray for peace for his soul.”

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy also reacted to the news, calling it “shocking” and expressing his sympathies via X (formerly Twitter).

Former Chief Minister and BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) called Gopinath’s death a “huge loss to the party.” In a statement, he praised Gopinath’s rise through political ranks and his dedication to public service, noting that he was “a gentle and accessible leader.”

BRS Working President K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) echoed similar sentiments, remembering Gopinath’s contributions to the development of Jubilee Hills and extending condolences to his family.

BRS MLC Sravan Dasoju also paid tribute, acknowledging Gopinath’s “unwavering commitment to public service.”

Gopinath, a well-respected figure in Hyderabad politics, had served three consecutive terms as MLA from Jubilee Hills and was known for his grassroots connection with the people.
