J-K LG Manoj Sinha Affirms Commitment to Statehood Demand, Highlights Governance and Development Goals

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, reaffirmed his government’s dedication to addressing the state’s demand for full statehood, stating that active engagement with all stakeholders is underway to facilitate this process. In his address during the inaugural session of the J-K Legislative Assembly’s Budget Session, LG Sinha emphasized that the budget marks a new era of participatory governance, prioritizing the needs and aspirations of the people.

Sinha acknowledged the emotional and political significance of statehood for J-K’s citizens, stating, “My government remains steadfast in its commitment to addressing this legitimate desire.” He stressed the importance of peace, stability, and progress in achieving the goal.

The LG also highlighted the government’s dedication to preserving Jammu and Kashmir’s unity, culture, and diversity while ensuring transparent governance and accountable decision-making. Under his leadership, the region has seen growth in key areas such as infrastructure, GSDP, and socio-economic indices, though challenges such as unemployment and regional disparities remain a priority for resolution.

Additionally, Sinha lauded recent infrastructure achievements, including the inauguration of the Sonmarg Tunnel by Prime Minister Modi, and emphasized ongoing projects aimed at improving connectivity. He also mentioned the government’s focus on energy sector reforms, with major hydro power projects set to add 3,014 Megawatts of capacity, enhancing regional energy security.
