Amid escalating tensions with Pakistan, Indian defence officials have firmly denied circulating reports claiming damage to the country’s S-400 air defence system. The officials labelled the reports as “baseless” and “fake,” emphasizing that the system remains fully operational and continues to play a crucial role in countering Pakistani drone and missile threats following the launch of Operation Sindoor.

“News reports of destruction or any damage to an S-400 system are baseless, fake news,” officials stated, reaffirming the integrity and resilience of India’s advanced air defence capabilities.

India has launched a series of retaliatory strikes after Pakistan targeted 26 locations across the country. According to top sources, Indian airstrikes hit at least four Pakistani airbases early Saturday, even as intermittent cross-border firing continues along the Line of Control (LoC).

The Ministry of Defence reported that drones—some suspected to be armed—have been spotted at 26 locations along the International Border and LoC, including major cities such as Srinagar, Jammu, Pathankot, and Barmer. One drone strike injured civilians in Ferozpur, prompting swift medical and security responses.

The armed forces remain on high alert, engaging aerial threats with counter-drone systems and urging civilians in border regions to stay indoors and follow safety protocols. While the situation is under close surveillance, officials have called for public calm alongside heightened vigilance.
