On January 20, 2025, the Indian Army’s Motorcycle Rider Display Team, Daredevils, achieved a remarkable milestone at Kartavya Path, New Delhi, by setting a World Record for the highest human pyramid on moving motorcycles. The formation, standing at an impressive height of 20.4 feet, involved 40 men balancing on 7 motorcycles as they covered a distance of 2 kilometers from Vijay Chowk to India Gate.
This feat adds another achievement to the Daredevils’ already illustrious history, marking their 33rd World Record, which includes entries in the Guinness Book of World Records, Asia Book of Records, and the Limca Book of Records. The team, part of the Corps of Signals, is renowned for its exceptional displays of skill and precision and has earned international acclaim for its daring performances.
The Daredevils were warmly welcomed and flagged in at India Chowk by the Signals Fraternity, including the Head of the Arm of the Corps of Signals, Lieutenant General KV Kumar, who commended the team’s extraordinary accomplishment amidst cheers of encouragement.
Since its formation in 1935, the Daredevils have conducted over 1,600 motorcycle displays across India, captivating audiences at prestigious events such as the Republic Day Parades, Army Day Parades, and Military Tattoos. Their unwavering dedication and exceptional skill continue to inspire audiences and showcase the prowess of the Indian Army.
In line with the government’s objective to increase ‘Jan Bhagidari’ (people’s participation) in national events, approximately 10,000 special guests have been invited to witness the 76th Republic Day Parade at Kartavya Path in New Delhi on January 26, 2025. These guests, representing various fields of achievement, include individuals who have excelled in their respective sectors and those who have benefitted from government schemes.
Among the invited are Sarpanches from villages that have met targets in selected government initiatives. A national-level competition conducted by the Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances selected panchayats that have achieved milestones in at least six flagship government schemes.
Additionally, members of Self Help Groups (SHGs) who have contributed to areas like food, nutrition, health, sanitation, and gender empowerment have been invited, with preference given to SHG members who have never visited Delhi. The guest list also includes participants of the PM-JANMAN mission, tribal artisans, ASHA workers, and MyBharat volunteers, who are making significant contributions in their communities.
The celebration will highlight the invaluable contributions of these individuals to the nation’s progress and development, ensuring the involvement of ordinary citizens in the country’s most important events.
