In a powerful and targeted response to escalating aggression by Pakistan, the Indian Armed Forces on Saturday launched precision air strikes on multiple high-value military installations across Pakistan under Operation Sindoor. The operation follows Pakistan’s attacks on Indian military and civilian areas and is aimed at neutralising its offensive capabilities without causing collateral damage.

Addressing a joint press conference with the Ministry of External Affairs, Indian Army Colonel Sofiya Qureshi confirmed that Indian fighter aircraft used air-launched precision weapons to strike Pakistani military targets in Rafiqui, Murid, Chaklala, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur, and Chunian, along with radar facilities at Pasrur and Sialkot aviation bases.

“In response to Pakistan targeting civilian infrastructure, the Indian Armed Forces have struck technical installations, command centres, radar sites, and ammunition depots. Precision strikes ensured minimal collateral damage,” said Col Qureshi.

She described Pakistan’s continued hostile activity, which included the deployment of Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicles (UCAVs), loitering munitions, long-range missiles, and fighter aircraft, all used to attack Indian military assets along the Line of Control (LoC) and International Border (IB).

“From Srinagar to Naliya, Pakistan attempted over 26 airspace infiltrations. Heavy-calibre weapons and drones were used to target Indian positions,” she stated.

Despite the onslaught, Indian forces retaliated effectively. However, airbases at Udhampur, Pathankot, Adampur, Bhuj, and Bathinda suffered structural damage and injuries were reported among Indian personnel. Col Qureshi also condemned Pakistan’s unethical targeting of hospitals and schools in areas including Srinagar, Awantipora, and Udhampur.

The strikes are part of Operation Sindoor, which was launched in retaliation to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 Indian citizens. The operation seeks to dismantle terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) while maintaining a calibrated posture to avoid wider escalation.

India continues to urge restraint from Pakistan while keeping its own forces on high alert across the western front.
