Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has accused the Congress-led INDIA alliance of using foreign funds, particularly from billionaire George Soros, to influence the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. In a sharp attack, he even called this alleged act “treason.”
Speaking in an exclusive interview with ANI, Adityanath stated, “They did propaganda, and not just that, but foreign money was also involved. George Soros had announced this long ago. I am saying that foreign money was used throughout the country in these elections, and Congress and other INDIA bloc parties were directly or indirectly involved. This falls under ‘deshdroh’ (treason).”
The Chief Minister also weighed in on the Kunal Kamra controversy, strongly criticizing the stand-up comedian for misusing freedom of expression.
“Freedom of expression cannot be a weapon to attack others. It is unfortunate that some people treat it as their birthright to divide the country further,” Adityanath said.
Taking aim at the Congress-led Karnataka government, the Chief Minister slammed its 4% minority reservation policy, calling it an “insult to Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Constitution.”
“Granting reservation based on religion is against the principles of the Constitution. Congress has a history of distorting the Constitution, as they did in 1976,” he remarked.
When asked about his firm stance on law and order, Adityanath defended his governance style, saying, “This ‘lathi’ (baton) not only protects our sisters, daughters, and businessmen but also deals with mafia and criminals. This is not ‘Dabang’ style—this is our way of maintaining peace.”
The full interview, part of The ANI Podcast, features Adityanath discussing several key issues and controversies. The podcast will be available to ANI subscribers from 10 AM on Wednesday, with a text feed accessible to ANI Wire subscribers at 9 AM.
