In a separate development, Amit Shah met Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday to discuss preparations for the upcoming two-day Advantage Assam 2.0 Business Summit in Guwahati. CM Sarma briefed Shah on the extensive steps taken by the Assam government to ensure the event’s success in terms of participation and investment.
Shah praised Sarma’s efforts and expressed confidence that the summit would attract substantial investments while positioning Assam as a key economic hub and an attractive destination for global investment. The meeting, which lasted over 30 minutes, was seen as a positive step toward making Assam a central player in India’s economic growth.
The Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit, which will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 25, aims to foster investment and highlight the state’s potential. CM Sarma, in a post on social media platform X, shared that he sought Shah’s guidance for the summit.
During the summit, Assam is expected to sign Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with Japan and Singapore. The agreements focus on Japan’s interest in recruiting manpower from Assam, and Singapore’s desire to hire nurses from the state.
