The Government of India is actively implementing the National Agriculture Market (e-NAM) scheme to enable transparent online trading of agricultural and horticultural commodities. The initiative aims to provide farmers with better price discovery for their produce through a competitive online bidding system.

As of  October 31, 2024, a total of 1,389 mandis across 23 states and 4 Union Territories (UTs) have been successfully integrated with the e-NAM platform. The state-wise distribution of these integrated mandis has been provided by the government, showing widespread adoption of the platform.

So far, 1.78 crore farmers, 2.62 lakh traders, and more than 4,250 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) have registered on e-NAM, demonstrating the growing participation from various stakeholders in the agriculture sector. The platform has recorded agricultural trade transactions valued at approximately Rs. 3.79 lakh crore, marking a significant achievement for digital agriculture trade in the country.

The e-NAM scheme is demand-driven, with the integration of mandis based on proposals received from state governments and union territories. This process reflects their readiness and commitment to adopting the platform. Mandis are integrated only after meeting the required infrastructure and technical standards outlined in the e-NAM operational guidelines.

This initiative continues to empower farmers, enabling them to access better prices for their produce, while also fostering a more efficient and competitive agricultural market.
