Former Telangana Chief Minister and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) President K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR), along with several political leaders, paid their last respects to Jubilee Hills MLA Maganti Gopinath, who passed away early Saturday morning following a heart attack.

Gopinath, 63, was admitted to AIG Hospital in Hyderabad on June 5 and was undergoing treatment in the ICU. Despite medical efforts, he was declared dead at 5:45 AM on June 8.

KCR visited Gopinath’s residence in Madhapur, offered floral tributes to his mortal remains, and consoled the bereaved family. Accompanied by senior BRS leaders, including KT Rama Rao and Harish Rao, the former CM appeared visibly emotional during the visit.

A host of BRS leaders, MPs, MLAs, MLCs, and former ministers also gathered to pay homage. Among them were KR Suresh Reddy, Damodar Rao, Sabita Indra Reddy, Vemula Prashanth Reddy, and many others who described Gopinath as a humble leader deeply connected to his constituency.

The BRS party, in a statement on X, hailed Gopinath as a grassroots leader known for his accessibility and public service. “He rose through the ranks with dedication and earned respect as a senior political figure in Hyderabad,” the party noted.

KT Rama Rao remembered him as an integral part of Jubilee Hills’ development, while BRS MLC Sravan Dasoju posted, “Deeply saddened by the loss of Shri Maganti Gopinath Garu. His commitment to public service and the BRS party will be remembered.”

Andhra Pradesh Minister and TDP leader Nara Lokesh also paid his respects, joining a chorus of condolence messages from across political lines.

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy expressed his shock over the MLA’s demise, posting, “Shocked by the untimely demise of Jubilee Hills MLA Maganti Gopinath. I extend my deepest sympathies to his family. May his soul rest in peace.”

Maganti Gopinath served three consecutive terms as MLA from Jubilee Hills and played a prominent role in Hyderabad’s political scene. His sudden passing has left a deep void in the BRS and the wider political community.
