BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi on Saturday expressed strong confidence in his party’s victory in the Delhi Assembly election, asserting that the final results would be “even better and decisive” in favor of the BJP. As trends continued to emerge, Trivedi attributed the party’s lead to the faith people have in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s promises.
Speaking to ANI, Trivedi said, “We are waiting for the final results; we believe the outcome will be even better and decisive in favor of the BJP. It reflects the trust people have in PM Modi’s promises. This is a positive result for us.”
He further highlighted that the BJP’s campaign strategy, which focused on critiquing the AAP government’s failures, had resonated well with the people of Delhi. He also pointed out that Delhiites were growing disillusioned with the “experimental” politics of AAP, which has been in power since 2015.
“The people of Delhi were fed up with ‘experimental’ politics,” Trivedi added.
According to the latest updates from the Election Commission of India (ECI) at 11:38 am, the BJP is leading in 45 seats, while the AAP is leading in 25 seats.
Key constituencies include New Delhi, where AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal is contesting against Congress’s Sandeep Dikshit and BJP’s Parvesh Verma. Delhi Chief Minister Atishi is competing in Kalkaji against BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri and Congress candidate Alka Lamba. The campaign saw heated exchanges among leaders from all three parties.
Most exit polls released earlier predicted a BJP edge over the AAP, though AAP leaders have expressed confidence in the party’s ability to defy those forecasts, citing their past performance. The AAP is aiming for a third consecutive term, while the BJP hopes to reclaim power after more than two decades in the National Capital.
The Congress, which dominated Delhi for 15 years, has struggled in recent elections and has yet to secure any seats in the past two assemblies. AAP has been the dominant force in Delhi, but BJP is hoping to break the streak.
The BJP’s campaign, led by Modi, focused on issues like the Yamuna water crisis and allegations of corruption within the AAP government, while Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra accused AAP of damaging Delhi’s infrastructure.
