Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has strongly endorsed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s national address on Operation Sindoor, describing it as a landmark moment that redefines India’s national security doctrine. Speaking to reporters on Monday, Fadnavis highlighted the Prime Minister’s articulation of three “new normals”, which he said have fundamentally changed how India responds to terrorism and its perpetrators.

“PM Modi has laid down three critical principles that are now part of India’s security policy,” Fadnavis said. “First, any terror attack on India will be treated as an act of war, and the response will be direct, forceful, and decisive. Second, India will no longer tolerate nuclear blackmail. And third, there will be no distinction between terrorists and those who harbor them—India will treat both as equal enemies.”

Fadnavis emphasized that these new principles send a powerful message to Pakistan, which has long attempted to shield itself from accountability by blaming non-state actors for terror attacks. “India will now look at the masters of terror and the governments protecting them with the same lens,” he said, echoing PM Modi’s warning that duplicity will no longer go unanswered.

He also reiterated the Prime Minister’s firm position that “terror and talks cannot coexist.” Fadnavis said any future dialogue with Pakistan would be restricted to two topics: terrorism and the return of Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK).

“Pakistan was devastated by India’s strikes. Their offensive was completely neutralized by our air defence systems, and in the face of mounting losses, Pakistan reached out to India requesting a ceasefire,” Fadnavis claimed.

During his national address, PM Modi outlined the three cornerstones of the updated security doctrine:

  1. Decisive Retaliation – Any act of terror against India will invite a direct, targeted, and powerful military response.
  2. No Tolerance for Nuclear Blackmail – India will not be deterred by threats of nuclear escalation and will act against terror havens regardless of such posturing.
  3. No Distinction Between Terrorists and Their Sponsors – Governments that shelter or support terrorism will be held equally responsible and treated as active participants in terrorism.

Fadnavis called the doctrine a “bold shift” in India’s approach and said it reflects the nation’s renewed confidence and clarity of purpose. “Under PM Modi’s leadership, India has drawn clear red lines. This is a New India—determined, strong, and unwilling to compromise with terror in any form,” he said.
