The Delhi Police on Sunday arrested another accused in connection with the recent attack on Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, officials said.

The accused, identified as Tahseen Syed, was detained in Rajkot, Gujarat, before being brought to Delhi. Police allege he had transferred money to the prime accused, Rajesh Khimji, who attacked the Chief Minister at her Civil Lines residence during a Jan Sunvai on August 20.

“An auto driver from Rajkot, who is a friend of the accused Rajesh, has been arrested. He allegedly transferred money to Rajesh,” Delhi Police said in a statement.

Tahseen has been remanded to five days’ police custody as investigators continue to probe possible financial and logistical support behind the attack.

Meanwhile, Delhi Police has intensified its investigation, seeking dump data of mobile networks around both the CM’s personal and official residences. This includes tower location records, device signals, and call details to verify whether Rajesh Khimji acted alone or had accomplices.

Investigators are also reviewing CCTV footage, security logs, and visitor records from both residences, while cross-checking Khimji’s interrogation with technical evidence. Police said the findings will help determine whether reconnaissance was conducted before the attack and if a larger conspiracy is involved.
