Markets in Delhi will remain closed on Friday as traders have called for a “Delhi Bandh” in protest against the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which has shocked the nation. The attack has sparked widespread condemnation across the country, with citizens and various groups coming together to express their outrage.

Protests have erupted nationwide, with BJP Yuva Morcha holding a protest in Bhubaneswar on Thursday evening. Odisha BJP President Manmohan Samal, present at the protest, strongly condemned the attack and reiterated the government’s commitment to eradicating terrorism in all its forms.

In Anantnag, students from the Government Degree College for Women took to the streets in a march to denounce the attack. One participating student emphasized that terrorism has no religion, stating, “We, as common Kashmiris, stand for peace and will always stand for peace. We strongly condemn the attack. This doesn’t represent Kashmir, and it certainly doesn’t represent us.”

Protests also took place in Chandigarh, where residents gathered holding placards demanding justice, while in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, a candlelight march was held to honor the victims. Delhi’s Khan Market Trade Association also organized a candlelight march in memory of the deceased.

In Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, BJP leaders and workers, including BJP MP and state party president VD Sharma, participated in a similar march. He stated, “Today the whole of Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, and the country have come out on the streets against terrorism. Not a single terrorist will be spared. We are moving forward with the resolution to end terrorism in the country.”

The attack, which took place at the Baisaran meadow in Pahalgam, claimed the lives of 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen, while several others were left injured. This attack is considered one of the deadliest in the region since the 2019 Pulwama bombing, in which 40 CRPF personnel were killed, and among the most severe since the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019.
