Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta visited the Asha Kiran Shelter Home on Thursday to celebrate Holi with its inmates, extending her warm greetings to the people of Delhi on the occasion. She emphasized the importance of celebrating the festival safely and conserving water during the festivities.

“I extend greetings to the people of Delhi on Holi. I hope it is a safe Holi and there is no wastage of water. I felt very good on my visit to Asha Kiran,” CM Gupta said.

The celebration comes as cities across India, including Delhi, witness vibrant Holi festivities, with people smearing each other with colors and enjoying traditional treats like gujiya and thandai. In states like Mathura and Vrindavan, grand celebrations, including the Lathmar Holi, are underway.

In a related event, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta, alongside Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, chaired a meeting of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) to assess the city’s hazard vulnerability and disaster preparedness. They reviewed plans for earthquake response, urban flooding, and heat action strategies for 2025. The meeting also highlighted concerns regarding DDMA’s infrastructure and the need for a State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) in Delhi.
