The swearing-in ceremony of Delhi’s Chief Minister and the new cabinet will take place at Ramlila Maidan on February 20 at 11 a.m. The Lt Governor of Delhi, VK Saxena, will administer the oath of office to the CM-designate and the new cabinet at 12:35 p.m.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, along with several Union Ministers and Chief Ministers and Deputy Ministers from the NDA, are expected to attend the event.

In preparation for the ceremony, BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad and the party’s National Secretary Om Prakash Dhankar have been appointed as central observers for the election of the Delhi BJP Legislature Party leaders.

BJP leader Tarun Chugh has described the swearing-in as a “historic” event for Delhi. He also took a jab at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), following their defeat in the Delhi assembly elections, and claimed the people of Delhi had “punished a tyrant ruler for his lies, deceit, and fraud.”

Speaking to ANI, Chugh stated, “The people of Delhi have given their blessings to PM Narendra Modi. These blessings have transformed into a mandate. Tomorrow, a historic event will unfold at Ramlila Maidan. The people of Delhi have punished a tyrant ruler for his lies and fraud.”

He further expressed confidence that under PM Modi’s leadership, Delhi would evolve into a world-class capital. He added that the common people would be the “biggest VIPs” at the ceremony, with their presence and blessings for the Prime Minister and the new cabinet.

“Under PM Modi’s leadership, Delhi will move toward becoming a world-class capital. The poor and common people are the biggest VIPs and will bless PM Modi and the new cabinet,” Chugh said.

Meanwhile, MLA-elect and BJP leader Mohan Singh Bisht spoke about his potential role as the new Speaker of the assembly after the CM is chosen. He said, “The party will decide the Speaker. It’s clear that a BJP worker will be the CM. If I am chosen, I will do what needs to be done.”

Regarding his potential role as Speaker, Bisht stated, “My priorities would be to ensure the smooth conduct of the House and raise important issues concerning Delhi.”
