The stage is set for the counting of votes in the crucial Delhi Assembly elections, with candidates from the AAP, BJP, and Congress expressing confidence as security measures are tightened across the National Capital.

As the results approach, AAP’s Manish Sisodia is hopeful of securing a third consecutive term. “We are confident that the AAP government will be formed. We have much more work to do for Delhi, especially in the field of education,” said Sisodia, who is contesting from the Jangpura constituency.

BJP candidate Dushyant Gautam, who is running from Karol Bagh, visited the Jhandewalan Temple on Saturday morning to offer prayers ahead of the vote counting. He is contesting against AAP’s Vishesh Ravi and Congress’s Rahul Dhanak. “Delhi has made up its mind to form a double-engine government. The people of Delhi deserve better facilities, and today, we will put an end to the politics of corruption and lies,” Gautam told ANI.

Congress’s Sandeep Dikshit, who is contesting from the New Delhi constituency, shared his thoughts as well. When asked about a possible alliance, Dikshit responded, “I have no idea about the alliance. It’s a decision for the high command. Let the counting of the votes happen first.” Dikshit faces AAP’s Arvind Kejriwal and BJP’s Parvesh Verma in the race.

Authorities have stepped up security at the counting centers across the National Capital Region to ensure a smooth process.

The AAP is hoping to secure a third consecutive term in power, while the BJP is aiming to break the AAP’s winning streak and reclaim control of the National Capital after more than two decades. Congress, which had been in power for 15 years in Delhi, has struggled in recent elections and has failed to win any seats in the last two assemblies.

The counting of votes will determine whether AAP continues its dominance, or if the BJP will make a successful comeback after more than two decades.
