Two suspects linked to the sensational murder of criminal Chandan Mishra were injured in an encounter with the Bihar Special Task Force (STF) and Bhojpur Police on Tuesday. The injured men, identified as Balwant Kumar Singh and Ravi Ranjan Kumar Singh, were arrested and are currently receiving medical treatment.
According to police officials, the duo has confessed to their role in the July 17 murder of Chandan Mishra, who was shot dead by unidentified assailants while undergoing treatment at Paras Hospital in Patna. Authorities recovered two pistols and a magazine from the accused.
Earlier on Sunday, Patna SSP Kartikey K Sharma confirmed that four of the accused, including the main shooter Tausif, were apprehended in Kolkata with the support of Kolkata Police and STF. Tausif has prior charges under the NDPS Act, Arms Act, and attempt to murder. The other arrested accomplices—Nishu Khan, Harsh, and Bheem—also have criminal histories, including cases of extortion and illegal arms possession.
Four more suspects in the case remain absconding. Efforts to trace and arrest them are ongoing, officials said.
Chandan Mishra, a notorious criminal with multiple murder cases registered against him, was out on parole for medical treatment when he was gunned down inside the hospital—an act believed to be carried out by a rival gang. Investigations into the conspiracy are still underway.
