Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his pride and gratitude after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured two out of three seats in the Telangana Members of the Legislative Council (MLC) elections. Extending his congratulations to the winning candidates and party workers, PM Modi took to social media platform X to share his thoughts.

“I thank the people of Telangana for blessing the BJP with such phenomenal support in the MLC elections. Congratulations to our newly elected candidates. I am very proud of our Party Karyakartas who are working among the people with great diligence,” the Prime Minister posted.

The BJP’s impressive performance saw Malka Komaraiah winning from the Medak-Karimnagar-Adilabad-Nizamabad (Teachers) Constituency, while Chinnamail Anji Reddy claimed victory in the Karimnagar-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Medak (Graduate) Constituency. The third seat was secured by independent candidate Sripal Reddy Pingili, who won the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Teachers’ MLC seat.

The elections, which took place on February 27 in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, had their votes counted on March 3. BJP’s success in these elections was hailed as a significant achievement by Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, who emphasized the party’s growing influence in the state.

“BJP secures two out of the three MLC seats, Karimnagar-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Medak (Graduate) and Medak-Karimnagar-Adilabad-Nizamabad (Teachers’), with a commanding margin. This triumph is a victory of our youth and teachers, who have decisively rejected Congress for its failed governance & failure to address their concerns,” Reddy stated in a post on X.

Reddy also highlighted the inability of the Congress to retain the Karimnagar Graduate seat despite deploying its ministers, MLAs, and MPs, and spending heavily on the campaign. “This outcome sends a strong message to Congress, which came to power by making false promises to the people,” he added.

Covering 13 districts, 43 assembly constituencies, six parliamentary segments, and 270 mandals, the MLC elections were a significant political event. The BJP’s victories underline its increasing foothold in Telangana politics.

Expressing his gratitude, Kishan Reddy thanked the teachers and youth of Telangana for their faith in BJP’s vision for development and PM Modi’s leadership. “A special acknowledgment to our hardworking karyakartas, the backbone of our party. Their unwavering dedication continues to strengthen BJP’s presence and resolve in Telangana,” he said.
