Jaiswal, who was appointed as the state president of the party on January 18, confirmed he would continue to serve in his role as party president.

“I am going to resign from the post of Revenue Minister. ‘One person, one post’ is the principle on which the party works. I am thankful that the central leadership has given me the responsibility of the party’s state unit,” Jaiswal told ANI.

His resignation could prompt changes in Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s cabinet, with speculation around a possible expansion ahead of the state elections later this year. Jaiswal, however, clarified that any decisions regarding cabinet expansion remain at the discretion of the Chief Minister.

In a related development, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar’s son, Nishant Kumar, urged the people of Bihar to vote for his father in the upcoming elections. Nishant emphasized the development work done by Nitish Kumar over the past 19 years and expressed hope for a stronger mandate in the upcoming polls.

“I urge the people of Bihar to vote for Bihar CM Nitish Kumar as he has done a lot of development in the state. Last time people gave 43 seats. The public should ensure that we win more seats in the elections so that we can continue the pace of development,” said Nishant Kumar. He also called on Janata Dal (United) workers to promote the CM’s achievements and support his candidacy in the forthcoming election.
