Bhutanese Prime Minister Dasho Tshering Tobgay will visit Ayodhya on September 5 to offer prayers at the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, Ayodhya District Magistrate Nikhil Tikaram Funde confirmed on Wednesday.

The Prime Minister will arrive at around 9:30 am and be accorded a red carpet welcome in line with official protocol. After paying obeisance at the temple, a special banquet will be hosted in his honour before his scheduled departure at 1:30 pm the same day.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Tobgay and his spouse Aum Tashi Doma are on a four-day official visit to India from September 3–6, with stops in Gaya, Ayodhya, and New Delhi. In the capital, he will hold talks with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and other senior leaders.

This is Tobgay’s second visit to India this year. In February, he attended the Leadership Conclave of the School of Ultimate Leadership (SOUL), inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and also met several Union Ministers.

The MEA said the back-to-back visits reflect the deepening ties and close cooperation between India and Bhutan, reinforcing the special partnership shared by the two neighbouring countries.
