Union Home Minister Amit Shah will hold a high-level meeting with Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Monday evening in New Delhi to discuss the implementation of India’s newly enacted criminal laws in the state, alongside security and developmental strategies for Naxal-affected regions.

The meeting, to be held at the Ministry of Home Affairs’ North Block office, will be attended by Chhattisgarh’s Chief Secretary and Director General of Police, as well as senior central officials including the Union Home Secretary, the Director General of the Bureau of Police Research and Development, and the Director of the National Crime Records Bureau.

The discussions will center around the effective implementation of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA), 2023—new laws that replace the IPC, CrPC, and the Indian Evidence Act, respectively.

Shah is expected to urge Chhattisgarh’s leadership to closely monitor the rollout of the new legal framework and ensure progress across police, judicial, prosecutorial, and forensic systems.

In addition, CM Sai is likely to seek the Centre’s support for modernizing security forces in Naxal-hit zones through advanced technology and improved infrastructure. Sources indicate that the meeting may also cover a comprehensive plan to eradicate Naxalism and promote Bastar as an emerging hub for eco- and cultural tourism.

The Chief Minister is expected to pitch for the ‘Niyad Nellanar Yojana’, a tribal empowerment initiative aimed at boosting women’s self-help groups and grassroots economic development, with a request for enhanced Central support.

Proposals to boost adventure tourism, promote tribal fairs, and develop homestay models in Bastar to attract national and international tourists are also likely to be presented during the session.
