Delhi Leader of Opposition and AAP leader Atishi on Wednesday criticised the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for conducting a 20-hour raid at the residence of Delhi AAP president Saurabh Bharadwaj, alleging it was politically motivated and meant to distract the public.

“ED carried out a search at Saurabh Bharadwaj’s residence for 20 hours. Why was such a raid even needed? These raids were carried out just to divert attention. The strength of AAP is that it never bows down, and that’s why the BJP is scared of us,” Atishi told ANI.

The ED concluded its search on Wednesday morning after launching raids a day earlier at 13 locations across Delhi-NCR, including Bharadwaj’s house. The operation was conducted under Section 17 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002, linked to alleged irregularities in hospital construction projects.

AAP leaders hit out at the agency, terming the raids as harassment. MLA Sanjeev Jha said Bharadwaj’s family was being targeted as part of “political revenge.” “It has been 17 hours. What is the ED investigating? They want to scare us,” he said.

Delhi AAP State General Secretary Adil Ahmad Khan also questioned the intent behind the searches, accusing the BJP of plotting against Bharadwaj. “ED has been raiding his residence for 16–17 hours. What are they trying to find? Is this a BJP conspiracy? We will not be afraid. They will never be able to suppress AAP’s voice,” he asserted.
