Ahead of the Delhi Assembly Election results scheduled for February 8, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is set to hold a crucial meeting with its 70 candidates today. The meeting, which will take place at 11:30 am, is expected to focus on the party’s preparations for the results and address concerns regarding allegations of horse-trading involving MLAs.

This meeting comes after most exit polls predicted a significant victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming Delhi elections. AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal has leveled serious accusations against the BJP in response.

On social media platform X, Kejriwal indirectly accused the BJP of attempting to poach AAP candidates. Delhi Chief Minister Atishi echoed these allegations, claiming that the BJP was trying to lure AAP candidates to join their ranks. The BJP has strongly denied these claims.

In his post, Kejriwal stated, “Some agencies are showing that the ‘Gali Galoch party’ (referring to the BJP) is getting more than 55 seats. In the last two hours, 16 of our candidates have received calls saying that if they leave AAP and join their party, they will be made ministers and given Rs. 15 crore each.”

He further questioned, “If the BJP is really set to win over 55 seats, why are they calling our candidates? Clearly, these fake surveys are being conducted to create an atmosphere of division and tempt some of our candidates. But your abusive tactics won’t succeed. Not even one of our men will fall for this.”

Exit polls have presented mixed predictions regarding the results. One poll suggested that the BJP could secure between 51-60 seats out of 70, while two other polls forecasted a victory for AAP. The P-MARQ exit poll predicts that BJP will win 39-49 seats, AAP 21-31 seats, and Congress 0-1 seat. The WeePreside exit poll, on the other hand, has projected AAP winning 46-52 seats, BJP 18-23 seats, and Congress 0-1 seat.

The final vote count will take place on February 8, with AAP having dominated the last two assembly elections in Delhi.
