On Wednesday, AAP leader Rituraj Jha and other volunteers displayed a banner at the ITO Flyover in protest against the delay in implementing the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana by the BJP-led Delhi government. This demonstration follows a similar protest held the previous day, led by Delhi Assembly Leader of Opposition Atishi, AAP MLAs, and party volunteers.

Speaking to ANI, Jha emphasized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s January 30th promise during a rally in Dwarka, where he guaranteed a transfer of Rs 2,500 per month to the accounts of mothers and sisters. Modi had assured that the money would be credited by March 8, in time for International Women’s Day.

Jha criticized the delay, stating that Delhi’s women were eagerly waiting for the fulfillment of this promise. He pointed out the discrepancy between the government’s repeated assurances and the lack of action, asking when the Rs 2,500 would finally be credited to women’s accounts.

Atishi, while addressing the gathering on Tuesday, clarified that the protest was not against the government but a call for Modi to honor his guarantee, as women in Delhi waited for the first installment to be credited by Women’s Day.

In contrast, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta hosted a “Jan Milan Samaroh” at her residence on Wednesday, where citizens, supporters, and dignitaries gathered to engage with the Chief Minister in a celebratory atmosphere.
