Gurpreet Gogi, an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Ludhiana West, was tragically shot dead late Friday night. The incident occurred around midnight, and Gogi was rushed to the Dayanand Medical College (DMC) hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival, according to officials.
“The incident happened around midnight, and he was declared dead when he was brought to the DMC hospital,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Jaskaran Singh Teja.
The police have launched an investigation into the incident, with further details yet to emerge.
Gogi, who joined the Aam Aadmi Party in 2022, gained prominence after defeating two-time Congress MLA Bharat Bhushan Ashu in the Ludhiana assembly elections.
