Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader Dasoju Sravan Kumar on Wednesday took oath as a Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) under the MLA quota, describing the position as a “lifetime opportunity” and a “responsibility to serve society and the party.”
The oath ceremony was held in the Telangana Legislative Council, with Council Chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy administering the oath.
In a statement to ANI following the ceremony, Sravan Kumar expressed deep appreciation for party chief K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), saying, “KCR has given me this great opportunity to serve the people and the party. I wholeheartedly bow before him and thank him with immense gratitude. This is not a position of power, but a role of responsibility and accountability.”
Reflecting on his nearly two decades in public life, Sravan Kumar added, “I see this as a significant chance to contribute meaningfully to society through legislative action and public service.”
Meanwhile, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy held a Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting, urging all MLAs to intensify public engagement efforts in their constituencies from April 16 to June 2. He emphasized the need to counter opposition misinformation, particularly in light of allegations about the Hyderabad Central University (HCU) land issue.
“The BJP and BRS are using artificial intelligence to spread false propaganda. It is our collective responsibility to clarify the government’s decisions and reinforce public trust,” Revanth Reddy stated. He also announced plans to personally meet citizens between May 1 and June 2 as part of the outreach campaign.
The parallel developments underscore growing political activity in Telangana, as parties prepare to bolster their grassroots connections and navigate the complex terrain of public perception ahead of upcoming elections.
