At least 12 Naxalites were killed in a fierce encounter with security forces in the forests of the National Park area in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district on Sunday, according to official reports.
The clash erupted early in the morning, and local Bastar police confirmed the deaths of the insurgents. “12 Naxalites were killed in the encounter in Bijapur’s National Park area,” said a police spokesperson.
Tragically, two jawans lost their lives in the firefight, and two others sustained injuries. The security forces have launched an ongoing search operation in the area to secure it and gather further intelligence.
