Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is on the road to recovery after a violent attack at his Bandra residence. Dr. Nitin Dange of Lilavati Hospital confirmed on Friday that the actor is “doing extremely well” and has been moved out of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to a special room. However, restrictions on movement and visitors remain in place to ensure a smooth recovery.

Speaking at a press conference, Dr. Niraj Uttamani recalled meeting Saif shortly after the attack. “He had blood all over but walked in like a lion, holding his young child. He is a real hero. His parameters have improved, and we are shifting him to a special room. Visitors will be restricted to allow him to rest,” Dr. Uttamani stated.

Dr. Dange explained that Saif’s injuries, including a severe wound to the spine, have been successfully treated. “We operated on his spine to remove the sharp object and repair the leaking spinal fluid. His hands also had two wounds, and one on his neck required plastic surgery. He is doing excellent now, experiencing no pain or complications, and we even made him walk,” Dr. Dange said.

Despite the progress, doctors have advised Saif to rest to avoid infection, particularly from the wounds on his back. Movement and visitor restrictions will remain in place for a quicker recovery.

Earlier, Mumbai Police reported progress in the investigation into the attack. They detained a suspect on Friday for questioning at the Bandra Police Station. The police also confirmed recovering part of the blade extracted from Saif’s back, with efforts to retrieve the remaining portion ongoing.

The suspect was reportedly last seen near Bandra railway station, and authorities believe he boarded a local train heading towards Vasai-Virar after the incident. Search operations are currently underway in Vasai, Nalasopara, and Virar.

The attack occurred early Thursday morning when an intruder entered Saif Ali Khan’s 11th-floor Bandra apartment via a fire escape staircase. After confronting the actor’s maid and demanding one crore rupees, the situation escalated, and Saif sustained multiple stab wounds while attempting to intervene.

Saif’s bravery, as described by doctors, and the swift medical response have been instrumental in his recovery. The actor remains under close observation, with fans and family relieved by the positive updates from Lilavati Hospital.
