Actor Saif Ali Khan is currently recovering at Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai after sustaining injuries during an attack by an intruder at his home.
A statement from Saif Ali Khan’s PR team confirmed the incident, describing it as an attempted burglary. The statement read: “There was an attempted burglary at Mr. Saif Ali Khan’s residence. He is currently in hospital undergoing surgery. We request the media and fans to remain patient. This is a police matter.”
According to Mumbai Police, the incident occurred late Wednesday night when the intruder got into a confrontation with the actor’s maid. Saif, in an attempt to defuse the situation, intervened, leading to a scuffle during which he was injured.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Dixit Gedam stated, “The actor and the intruder had a scuffle. The actor is injured and is being treated. The investigation is ongoing.”
The actor was rushed to Lilavati Hospital immediately after the incident and underwent surgery. His condition is stable, and he is expected to make a full recovery.
The attack has sparked concerns over safety in Mumbai’s upscale Bandra neighborhood. Actor Pooja Bhatt expressed her worries on X (formerly Twitter), urging the authorities to take action. She wrote: “Can this lawlessness please be curbed @MumbaiPolice @CPMumbaiPolice? We need more police presence in Bandra.
