Saif Ali Khan Stabbed During Suspected Burglary Attempt: Police Launch Major Hunt for Attacker

In a shocking turn of events, Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked early Thursday morning at his Bandra residence during an apparent burglary attempt. The actor sustained severe stab wounds and was rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent surgery and is now recovering in the ICU. Meanwhile, Mumbai Police have formed 20 teams to track down the assailant.

Around 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, Saif was attacked by an intruder in his 11th-floor flat. According to reports, the assailant confronted the actor’s maid, and when Saif intervened, the situation escalated into a violent altercation. During the struggle, Saif was stabbed multiple times.

Saif was immediately taken to Lilavati Hospital, where a team of doctors performed surgery to remove a 2.5-inch-long knife lodged in his spine. The injury had caused significant damage to his thoracic spinal cord and leaked spinal fluid. Thankfully, doctors confirmed that Saif is “out of danger” but will continue to be monitored in the ICU.

The Mumbai Police, led by DCP Zone 9 Dixit Gedam, are treating the incident as a robbery attempt. The attacker is believed to have entered Saif’s home through a fire escape staircase. Police have launched an extensive investigation, with 20 teams working to apprehend the assailant. An FIR has been filed at Bandra Police Station, and the police are gathering information from the staff at Saif’s residence.

Following the incident, Saif’s public relations team issued a statement confirming the attack and requesting privacy for the family. The statement read, “There was an attempted burglary at Mr. Saif Ali Khan’s residence during which he was attacked. He is currently undergoing surgery in the hospital. We request patience from the media and fans during this time.”

In the wake of the attack, Saif’s family rushed to Lilavati Hospital. His wife, actress Kareena Kapoor, sister Soha Ali Khan, brother-in-law Kunal Kemmu, and children Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Khan were all seen at the hospital to support the actor. Saif’s mother, veteran actress Sharmila Tagore, also visited the hospital on Thursday evening.

The actor’s maid, who was attacked by the intruder before Saif intervened, filed a statement with the police. According to her account, the assailant demanded one crore rupees and attacked her with a sharp object, injuring both her hands. She described the terrifying moment when the intruder threatened her and later attacked Saif.

Kareena Kapoor, Saif’s wife, shared an emotional message on Instagram, addressing the media and the overwhelming situation. She described the day as “incredibly challenging” and requested the media to respect her family’s privacy. She said, “We are still trying to process the events that have unfolded. I kindly request the media and paparazzi to refrain from relentless speculation and respect our boundaries during this sensitive time.”

To ensure the assailant is caught swiftly, Mumbai Police have expanded their investigation, forming 20 teams to track down the individual responsible for the attack. Authorities are continuing their efforts to bring the suspect to justice.

The attack on Saif Ali Khan has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry, and the public continues to await updates on his recovery and the ongoing police investigation.
