Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked the beginning of Navratri 2025 with a spiritual offering, sharing a devotional rendition of the bhajan “Ya Devi Sarv Bhuteshu” on social media.

Posting on his X handle on Monday, PM Modi wrote, “Navratri is about pure devotion. So many people have encapsulated this devotion through music. Sharing one such soulful rendition by Pandit Jasraj ji.” He also invited citizens to share their own bhajan creations or favourite devotional songs, assuring that he would highlight them during the nine-day festival.

Alongside the musical tribute, the Prime Minister extended warm greetings to the nation, saying, “Infinite Navratri greetings to all of you. May this sacred festival, filled with devotion, courage, restraint, and determination, bring new strength and new faith into everyone’s life. Jai Mata Di.”

Highlighting the significance of the day, PM Modi noted that the first day of Navratri is dedicated to Maa Shailputri, wishing that the goddess’s blessings bring good fortune and health to all.

Sharadiya Navratri, celebrated in the lunar month of Ashwin, spans nine nights in honour of Goddess Durga’s nine forms, each symbolising different aspects of strength, wisdom, and compassion. Devotees observe fasting, participate in Garba and Dandiya, and offer prayers with great fervour throughout the festivities.

This year’s Navratri will culminate on October 2 with Vijayadashami, also known as Dussehra, signifying the victory of good over evil.
