George Clooney and Brad Pitt, two of Hollywood’s most beloved stars, reunited for a spectacular premiere of their latest film, “Wolfs,” at the Venice Film Festival on Sunday. The film marks another exciting chapter in their long-standing collaboration, adding to their impressive list of joint projects including the “Ocean’s” trilogy and “Burn After Reading.”

In a playful exchange with People at the event, Clooney couldn’t resist poking fun at their working relationship. “There’s nothing good about it. It’s all a disaster,” he joked. Yet, he also expressed genuine enthusiasm for working with Pitt, saying, “It’s fun to work with people you know really well.”

The conversation took a turn when Clooney addressed a recent New York Times article that claimed he and Pitt each earned over $35 million for their roles in “Wolfs.” Clooney clarified that the figures were significantly inflated. “It was an interesting article, and whatever the source was for our salary, it is millions and millions of dollars less than what was reported,” he said. He expressed concern that such inflated figures could skew perceptions of industry standards, potentially harming film production.

Back in February, a source close to the duo shared with People that Clooney and Pitt were excited about their reunion. “Brad and George are forever friends,” the insider noted, highlighting their mutual respect and enthusiasm for the project. “Wolfs was a meaty project, and both took a real interest in it. They are excited about the film and enjoying the lead-up to its release.”

The premiere of “Wolfs” at Venice was a resounding success. The film, directed by Jon Watts, who is known for his work on the “Spider-Man” series, received a four-minute standing ovation from the audience, according to Variety. Clooney and Pitt’s entrance to the theater was met with cheers as they enthusiastically greeted the crowd with a lively “Buonasera!” After the screening, the stars shared a heartfelt hug and celebrated with a dance to Sade’s classic hit “Smooth Operator.” Clooney also shared a tender moment with his wife, Amal, before both actors descended from the balcony to mingle with the adoring fans.

In “Wolfs,” Brad Pitt and George Clooney play two professional fixers who are typically solitary in their work but must join forces for a high-stakes assignment. The film also features performances by Amy Ryan, Austin Abrams, and Poorna Jagannathan. Excitingly, Apple Original Films has already announced that a sequel is in development, with both stars and Watts returning.

Unfortunately, director Jon Watts was unable to attend the premiere due to a positive COVID-19 test, but his absence did not dampen the excitement surrounding the film.

“Wolfs” is set to hit theaters on September 20 and will be available for streaming on Apple TV+ starting September 27. Fans of Clooney and Pitt can look forward to their dynamic performances in this thrilling new film.
