Florence Pugh, the versatile actor known for her roles in films like ‘Lady Macbeth’, ‘The Little Drummer Girl’, and ‘Fighting with My Family’, recently opened up about her long-standing desire to have children. In an interview with ‘People’, the 28-year-old revealed her deep love for kids and her dream of one day starting a family.
“I’ve always been thinking about starting a family,” Pugh confessed, explaining that her wish to have children has been with her since she was very young. “I’ve wanted to have kids since I was a child myself,” she continued. Growing up in a big family has clearly influenced her feelings, as Pugh shared how much she enjoys being around children. “I love the idea of a big family. I come from a big family. I love kids. I love hanging out with kids.”
Pugh even admitted that, when attending social gatherings, she often gravitates toward the younger crowd. “If ever there’s a dinner party, I go straight to the kids to chat with them,” she said with a smile. The actor finds conversing with children far more engaging and straightforward than talking to adults. “I love the honesty. I love how bored they can get,” she explained. “I’ve never stopped knowing that I want to have kids. It’s just figuring out when.”
While Pugh is busy with her thriving career, her dream of motherhood remains firmly in her mind, a sentiment that echoes her down-to-earth personality and genuine love for family.
In addition to her thoughts on starting a family, Florence Pugh also recently opened up about a bold decision she made for her latest role in ‘We Live in Time’. For the movie, she shaved her head, even though the director, John Crowley, had given her the option to wear wigs or use hairpieces. “I just stopped him mid-sentence and said, ‘John, no one can play a character like this in a movie like this and not do the thing that’s needed to be done,'” Pugh revealed.
Her dramatic new look made headlines when she debuted it at the 2023 Met Gala, sparking rumors that she shaved her head to reclaim her identity. Pugh, however, dismissed these claims, asserting that her decision was entirely based on her commitment to the role.
