“Dilip Sahib Is Forever”: Dharmendra and Saira Banu Pay Heartfelt Tributes on Dilip Kumar’s Death Anniversary

On the third death anniversary of legendary actor Dilip Kumar, tributes poured in from across the film industry, with veteran stars Dharmendra and Saira Banu leading the remembrance of the icon known as the “Tragedy King” of Indian cinema.

Dharmendra took to Instagram to share a deeply emotional throwback photo with the late superstar. In his heartfelt note, he wrote: “Aaj ka din kitna ghamnak aur manhoos din hai… mere bahot hi pyaare bhai, aap sab ke chahete adakar, film industry ke khuda… Dalip saheb hamein hamesha ke liye chhod kar chale gaye… (Today is such a sorrowful day. My dearest brother, your beloved actor, the god of the film industry, Dalip Saheb, left us forever. I still can’t bear the loss and find solace thinking he is still around me).”

Meanwhile, Saira Banu, Dilip Kumar’s wife and former actress, also penned a poignant message on Instagram: “Dilip Sahib is forever. Beyond time. Beyond life. May Allah continue to keep him wrapped in His noor and mercy. Aameen.”

Dilip Kumar, born Yusuf Khan, passed away on July 7, 2021, at the age of 98. In a career spanning over five decades, he delivered iconic performances in films like Mughal-e-Azam, Devdas, Naya Daur, Ganga Jamuna, and Ram Aur Shyam, among many others. Known for his unmatched emotional depth and gravitas, he was a pioneer of method acting in Indian cinema.

Revered for both his cinematic legacy and personal integrity, Dilip Kumar continues to inspire generations of actors, directors, and admirers across the globe.
