The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has condemned YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia’s controversial comments made on the show India’s Got Latent, hosted by comedian Samay Raina. The association has called for an immediate ban on the show and legal action against those responsible.

In a press release issued on Monday evening, AICWA described Allahbadia’s remarks as offensive and contrary to “societal and family values.” The association further urged the Indian film industry to boycott and sever all ties with individuals associated with the show.

“The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) strongly condemns the offensive remarks made by Ranveer Allahbadia on the YouTube show India’s Got Latent, hosted by Samay Raina. In a recent episode, Allahbadia made disturbing and disrespectful statements that go against our cultural and familial values. This kind of content is deeply problematic and undermines the moral fabric of our society,” AICWA stated.

The association added that it is officially boycotting the show and called on all actors, filmmakers, directors, and technicians to cease collaboration with Samay Raina, Ranveer Allahbadia, and others involved in the program. “These individuals will no longer receive support from the Indian film industry,” AICWA emphasized.

The controversy began after Allahbadia, also known as BeerBiceps, made a crude joke during an episode of India’s Got Latent. His remark quickly went viral, sparking widespread backlash from both artists and social media users. During the episode, Allahbadia asked a contestant, “Would you rather watch your parents… or join in once and stop it forever?”

Allahbadia later apologized for his “inappropriate” comments, admitting that they were made in an “insensitive” manner. In a video posted to his X account, he explained, “Comedy is not my forte, and it wasn’t cool.” He acknowledged that his remark was “not even funny” and apologized for the lapse in judgment.

“I take full responsibility for my actions and want to make it clear that I do not disrespect family values. I want to be more mindful of my influence on younger audiences,” he added. Allahbadia also mentioned that he had requested the show’s creators to remove the “insensitive sections” of the episode featuring him.

A formal complaint was filed with the Mumbai Police Commissioner and the Maharashtra Women’s Commission, alleging that the show contained abusive language and obscene remarks about women. The complaint claimed the comments were made for the purpose of gaining popularity and financial gain through online broadcasts.

AICWA’s demands include the complete ban of India’s Got Latent, strict legal action against Allahbadia and Raina, the filing of FIRs against all responsible parties, and stronger regulations for digital content to prevent similar incidents in the future.
