Amritsar Police on Friday arrested two individuals, including a minor, for allegedly spray-painting anti-national slogans at multiple locations in the city earlier this week.
Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said the slogans appeared at three sites in Amritsar on the night of August 6–7. The accused were identified as a minor from Dargabad village in Batala district and Jashanpreet Singh.
According to Bhullar, the duo had been in contact with Shamsher Singh, alias Shera Mann, through Snapchat. “They were promised money for the act. They recorded a video of the spray-painting and sent it to Shera Mann. However, they never received any payment. By falling under his influence, they have destroyed their lives,” he stated.
Police are continuing their investigation to determine whether the incident is linked to a wider network or deeper conspiracy.
