Several schools across Delhi received bomb threat calls on Saturday morning, prompting swift evacuations and deployment of police teams along with bomb disposal squads.
The institutions targeted included DPS Dwarka, Krishna Model Public School, and Sarvodaya Vidyalaya. Students and staff were safely evacuated as a precautionary measure.
DPS Dwarka later announced the closure of its campus for the day, citing “unavoidable circumstances”. The school also postponed its scheduled mid-term exams. In a circular issued to parents, the management instructed them to pick up their wards immediately as buses and vans were sent back.
“Dear Parents, Kindly note that the school will remain closed today, i.e., Saturday, September 20, 2025, due to unavoidable circumstances… Mid-term exams scheduled for the day stand postponed. Fresh dates will be intimated shortly,” the circular stated.
Police confirmed that searches are ongoing at the affected schools.
This incident comes amid a worrying trend, as multiple educational institutions in Delhi have faced similar threats in recent months. On September 9, the University College of Medical Sciences received a bomb threat via email, triggering an evacuation. The Bomb Disposal Squad later declared the premises safe, calling it a hoax.
On the same day, the Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC) and even the Delhi Chief Minister’s Secretariat were targeted with similar email threats. Police said the messages lacked specifics but were treated with utmost seriousness.
Delhi Police have reiterated that while most such threats have turned out to be fake, all alerts are being thoroughly investigated to ensure student and public safety.
