The southwest monsoon has reactivated across Karnataka after a nearly two-week lull, bringing widespread rainfall and prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue a seven-day weather warning for the state, effective until June 17.

Heavy rains were reported in several parts of the state early Thursday, with Hubballi in Dharwad district experiencing severe waterlogging, especially in Hanashi village, due to torrential downpours.

According to the IMD forecast:

Other regions, including Bengaluru (Urban and Rural), Tumakuru, Mysuru, Davangere, and Hassan, are expected to experience heavy rain with winds between 40–50 kmph, while Chamarajanagar, Chitradurga, and Kolar are forecasted to receive moderate rainfall.

The IMD has urged residents to stay alert and take necessary precautions as the intense monsoon activity continues across the state until June 17.
