Multiple schools in Delhi and Noida received bomb threats on Friday morning, prompting immediate action from local authorities. Police have initiated an investigation, following established protocols to ensure safety.
Ahlcon International School in Mayur Vihar, Delhi, reported a bomb threat to Pandav Nagar police station after the school’s principal received an email warning about a potential bomb. The threat was reported at 6:40 am, and the information was quickly relayed to the control room. The Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) from the East District was notified, and the Station Head Officer (SHO) of Pandav Nagar, along with staff, immediately responded to the scene.
The BDS conducted a thorough sweep of the school premises and found no suspicious items. To ensure the safety of students, the principal notified parents via email, informing them that the campus would be closed for the day.
A guardian of a student at the school told ANI, “The school administration said that the school is closed today, and classes will be conducted online. They didn’t provide much detail, but I assume it’s related to the bomb threat.”
Shiv Nadar School in Noida also received a bomb threat. Noida police, along with the bomb squad, fire brigade, Dog Squad, and BDDS team, quickly responded by checking all locations. “Senior officers are on-site. The cyber team is investigating the email. We urge the public to ignore rumors and remain calm,” the Noida police stated.
In North Delhi, St. Stephens College was another institution targeted with a bomb threat. The Deputy Commissioner of Police for North District confirmed that the college received the email at 7:42 am. The Bomb Detection and Disposal Team (BDT) was deployed to investigate.
Previously, Delhi Police successfully tracked down a juvenile responsible for sending hoax bomb threats to over 400 schools across the capital. The accused, a public school student, was arrested after a detailed investigation by the Cyber Cell of the South District police. During the investigation, the police recovered a laptop and two mobile phones, which were examined for forensic evidence. This revealed the student’s role in sending threatening emails using encrypted and anonymous services to hide his identity.
The investigation also uncovered that the accused had been involved in several similar incidents of sending threatening emails to schools, including a series of hoax bomb threats to around 23 schools in Delhi on January 8, 2025, which led to widespread panic, closures, and disruption of school activities.
