The Yatri Niwas at Chanderkote, managed by the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban district, has been beautifully illuminated with tricolour lights, adding a patriotic and festive ambiance to the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.

Pilgrims from across the country expressed appreciation for the arrangements. A devotee from Madhya Pradesh remarked, “The Yatri Niwas, lit up with tricolour lights, looks grand and well-equipped. The government has made excellent arrangements, and we’re facing no difficulties.”

Another pilgrim from Gujarat echoed similar sentiments, saying, “It feels like Diwali here. The facilities are excellent, and we feel safe. I urge everyone to visit and take part in the Yatra.”

The Ramban district administration has ensured round-the-clock sanitation and cleanliness to create a safe and hygienic environment for the pilgrims. Assistant Commissioner Panchayat and Nodal Officer for sanitation, Mohammed Ashfaq Khanji, informed ANI that approximately 1,200 washrooms have been set up across lodgment centres and langar sites, with around 200 sanitation workers on duty.

“We have eight lodgment centres in rural and four in urban areas. Supervisory staff are working in shifts, and with the strong support of the Jal Shakti Department, we have ample water supply to maintain sanitation,” Khanji said.

The 12th batch of pilgrims departed from the Nunwan base camp in Pahalgam on Monday, continuing their journey to the holy cave. A first-time pilgrim from Mumbai shared, “We are seven members. While the rain has posed some challenges, we are thankful for the food and shelter arrangements. We will pray for the well-being of Maharashtra’s people.”

The 38-day annual Amarnath Yatra began on July 3 and will conclude on August 9. Pilgrims are undertaking the sacred journey through both the Pahalgam route in Anantnag district and the Baltal route in Ganderbal district.

The Amarnath Yatra is a revered annual pilgrimage to the 3,880-metre-high cave shrine, where devotees worship the naturally formed ice lingam, believed to be a manifestation of Lord Shiva. The shrine draws thousands of pilgrims during the summer months each year.
