Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced on Saturday that two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth ₹700 crore were signed to establish the PM MITRA Park at the Lucknow-Hardoi border. The project aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 5F vision—Farm to Fibre, Fibre to Factory, Factory to Fashion, and Fashion to Foreign—aimed at transforming India’s textile sector.

Addressing the Investors Meet for the PM MITRA Park, CM Yogi highlighted government incentives to encourage investment in the textile and leather sectors. He announced:

  • ₹210 crore in incentives for 80 investors under the 2017 textile policy.
  • ₹8 crore in incentives for 44 investors under the 2022 policy.
  • The establishment of two new leather parks in Uttar Pradesh, named after Sant Ravidas.

“Two MoUs worth ₹700 crore have been signed today for PM MITRA Park, which will follow the Prime Minister’s 5F vision. This initiative will not only strengthen the textile industry but also boost exports,” CM Yogi said.

CM Yogi reaffirmed Uttar Pradesh’s potential as a major textile manufacturing hub, emphasizing the historical significance of Kashi and Ayodhya in the industry.

“The ancient cities of Kashi and Ayodhya were not only rich in cultural heritage but were also pioneers in textiles. Even today, Bhagoli and Mirzapur are known for their silk, while the Banarasi saree remains a global favourite,” he noted.

He further highlighted the prominence of textile hubs in Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Azamgarh, and Mubarakpur, stating that the One District, One Product (ODOP) policy has significantly increased demand for UP’s textiles.

To further support industrial growth, CM Yogi announced the development of an integrated textile park in Lucknow, along with ten additional parks as part of the state’s expansion plans.

“With the growing demand, we have decided to build an integrated textile park in Lucknow and develop ten new parks across the state to support industrial expansion,” he said.

CM Yogi emphasized UP’s commitment to investor-friendly policies, stating that incentives are provided through an efficient online system to ensure transparency.

“Uttar Pradesh is the first state in India to implement systematic social incentives for investors. Under our policies, all investors are receiving their promised incentives, strengthening trust in the government’s industrial initiatives,” he added.

The Mega Textile Park is expected to generate employment and position Uttar Pradesh as a leading textile manufacturing state. The PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) scheme aims to create a modern, large-scale textile infrastructure, integrating the entire value chain from fibre to finished products to boost India’s global textile competitiveness.
