Union Budget 2025-26: Emphasis on Growth, Inclusive Development, and Strengthening the Economy

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget for 2025-26, outlining a clear vision to accelerate economic growth, foster inclusive development, support industries, and boost household sentiment. A key focus of the budget was to enhance the purchasing power of India’s growing middle class.

Speaking on the objectives, Sitharaman said, “The Union Budget 2025-26 aims to:
a) Accelerate growth
b) Secure inclusive development
c) Invigorate society and industry
d) Uplift household sentiment
e) Enhance spending power of India’s rising middle class.”

Acknowledging the ongoing global geopolitical challenges, which could impact global economic growth, the Finance Minister expressed confidence in India’s robust economic foundation. She pointed out that the government’s long-term development policies and structural reforms have positioned India as the world’s fastest-growing major economy, gaining global recognition and trust. She emphasized that the next five years are crucial for achieving holistic and balanced development across the country.

Sitharaman reaffirmed the government’s commitment to its vision of ‘Sabka Vikas’ (Development for All), stressing that the goal is to unlock India’s potential and ensure balanced growth across all regions. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the government’s mission is to enhance India’s global standing and strengthen its position in the global economy.

“Our economy is the fastest-growing among major global economies,” she said. “The structural reforms and development policies implemented over the last decade have increased global confidence in India. The next five years offer a unique opportunity to achieve ‘Sabka Vikas’ and stimulate balanced growth in every region.”
